What is House Label?

House Label is an all-in-one toolkit for independent artists. It brings together grant discovery, application drafting, rights management, music distribution, and content tools — so everything lives in one place instead of scattered across a dozen platforms.

Who is it for?

Independent musicians, composers, producers, and performers — especially those based in Canada (Quebec, Ontario, etc.) or the United States who apply for arts grants, self-release music, and manage their own rights. No label required.

How does the Grant Finder work?

The Grant Finder scans funding organizations (CALQ, Conseil des arts du Canada, Musicaction, and others) and matches available grants against your artist profile — your discipline, location, career stage, and citizenship. You see matched results first, with direct links to apply.

What does the AI do in the Grant Redactor?

When you click "Generate with AI" on a grant section (project description, timeline, budget, etc.), the AI drafts an answer in the expected language and tone of the grant council — drawing from your artist profile and project description. Each generation costs 1 credit. You always review and edit before saving.

Is my data stored anywhere?

Your profile and grant drafts are stored locally in your browser (localStorage / IndexedDB). Nothing is sent to our servers except the text submitted for AI generation. We do not store your grant drafts, profile data, or documents on our end.

What are AI credits?

Each "Generate with AI" click uses one credit. Pro accounts include 20 credits per month. You can top up with additional packs ($5 CAD for 10 credits) at any time. Credits never expire. During the beta, generation is unlimited and free.

When will the other modules be available?

Sound Engineer, Digital Distributor, Rights Manager, and Content Creator are currently in development. They will roll out progressively — Pro subscribers get access automatically as each module launches.

Is it free right now?

Yes. House Label is in open beta. All features — including AI grant drafting — are free and unlimited during this period. No credit card required. Pricing will be introduced before the official launch, with advance notice for beta users.

Data we collect

House Label stores your artist profile, grant tracking data, and draft grant sections locally in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device except in the cases described below.

AI generation requests

When you click "Generate with AI," the following data is sent to our secure API endpoint and forwarded to OpenAI: your artist profile (name, genre, career stage, disciplines, project description) and the grant section being drafted. This data is used solely to generate the draft and is not stored on our servers. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.

What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit: your grant draft content, uploaded documents, usage analytics, IP addresses (beyond rate limiting in memory), or any payment information during the beta period.

Third-party services

House Label uses OpenAI for AI text generation. Grant application links direct you to third-party arts council websites (CALQ, Conseil des arts du Canada, Musicaction, etc.) — their privacy policies apply when you visit those sites.

Data deletion

To delete all your data, clear your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB for this site (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data, or via your browser's developer tools). Since we do not store data server-side, this immediately removes everything.
